What this setup covers
This walkthrough shows a reliable iPhone IRL streaming setup for 2026 that keeps your stream live even when your mobile connection drops.
It covers the streaming app for iPhone (Moblin), a cloud-hosted streaming server (Streamable), and how to add chat + alert overlays with browser sources.
Step 1:Install Moblin on your iPhone
Download the Moblin app from the App Store on your iPhone.
Moblin is one of the most widely used iOS apps for IRL streaming and works well with Streamable ingest QR codes.
Step 2:Use a cloud-hosted streaming server (so your stream does not end on signal loss)
If you stream directly to Twitch, Kick, or YouTube from your phone, a mobile signal drop can end the stream and disconnect your viewers.
A cloud-hosted streaming server keeps the broadcast alive and can show an offline/clips scene while your phone reconnects.
Streamable is a strong option here because it supports mobile ingests, quick switching, remote OBS, and automatic fallback behavior.
Step 3:Quick-launch your Streamable server
In Streamable, click Quick Launch (or Start Server) to spin up your cloud streaming server.
Wait for the server to finish starting, then open the control panel.
The control panel is where you switch scenes/ingests and control what viewers see.
Step 4:Connect your iPhone to a Moblin ingest using the QR code
Choose the ingest you want to use (for example, Ingest 2).
Open the Moblin iPhone ingest in Streamable, then scan the QR code with your iPhone camera.
Moblin should open automatically with the stream connection details imported.
Tap Go Live in Moblin to start sending video data to Streamable.
After tapping Go Live, confirm Streamable is receiving bitrate/video in the ingest monitor before switching it onto your live scene.
Step 5:Switch the iPhone ingest onto your live scene
In the Streamable control panel, click the ingest-to-scene button (for example, Ingest to Scene).
This makes your iPhone video feed the active content on stream.
You can now IRL stream from your phone while still using Streamable as the reliable broadcast layer.
Step 6:Let Streamable handle connection drops automatically
Mobile data drops are normal when streaming outside. When your phone temporarily loses signal, Streamable can switch to your ingest-offline scene or clips player automatically.
Viewers stay on the same stream instead of getting disconnected.
When your phone reconnects, Streamable switches back to your iPhone ingest automatically.
Step 7:Start the stream to your destination (Twitch, Kick, YouTube, etc.)
Once your iPhone ingest is visible and your scene is set, click Start Stream in Streamable.
Streamable will send your output to whatever destination(s) you connected in settings (for example Twitch, Kick, or YouTube).
Step 8:Add chat and alerts overlays with Streamlabs + Remote OBS
Use Streamlabs to generate widget URLs for your chat and alert box overlays.
In Streamable, open Remote OBS, then add a new Browser source and paste the Streamlabs widget URL.
Repeat this for chat and alerts (or any other browser-based overlays).
Your overlay layout will behave similarly to a local OBS browser source setup, but it runs in Streamable Remote OBS.
Step 9:Add other inputs and custom sources when needed
You can add more browser sources, images, and custom logos in Remote OBS.
You can also switch to other scenes (like Starting Soon) or other ingests such as desktop OBS, IRL Pro (Android), LiveU, or Belabox-style inputs depending on your setup.
For custom workflows, you can paste a full SRT URL into an ingest to bring in another source.

What iPhone app should I use for IRL streaming in 2026?
Moblin is a popular and reliable choice for iPhone IRL streaming, especially when paired with a cloud-hosted streaming server like Streamable.
Why not stream directly from my iPhone to Twitch or Kick?
Direct streaming can end the stream when your mobile signal drops. Using a cloud-hosted streaming server keeps the broadcast alive and can show an offline/clips scene while your phone reconnects.
How do I add chat and alert overlays to an iPhone IRL stream?
Generate widget URLs in Streamlabs, then add them as Browser sources in Streamable Remote OBS. You can do this for chat, alerts, and other browser-based overlays.
